Patty Brard and the candidates of "Echte Meisjes op de Prairie"
Yesterday, the second episode of RTL 5's reality show "Echte Meisjes op de Prairie" (hosted by Patty Brard) drew 396.000 viewers (market share: 5.5%). It represents an increase of 24% in comparison with the previous week according to the Dutch audience measurement company "StichtingKijkOnderzoek". The TV program is a trendy topic on Twitter as 2.000.658 tweets including #EMODP have been sent. RTL 5 had to face a tough competition with other networks. The absolute winner of yesterday's prime-time was the Champions League soccer match "FC Barcelona Vs AC Milan" on Nederland 3 which attracted 2.043.000 viewers (market share: 27.5%).

Lady Gaga and her boyfriend Taylor Kinney, best know from Vampire Diaries, have been dating since September 2011, and things are getting serious between them. Mr. Kinney and Mrs. Gaga are living together in Chicago and it's heard that he's taking care of her after her serious hip surgery. In an interview, Lady Starlight, Lady Gaga's friend, has told 'The Sun' that they are also getting married this summer: "She's told me he's the one and you know that instantly when you see them together.", Lady Starlight said. "From all I've heard, I don't think I'm dropping a secret by saying they are ready to get hitched this year." It's still not official if the couple are engaged yet, but Lady Starlight says they're all set: " There's a summer perios when his shooting schedule will be clear and her concert and studio commitments will be minimal, so expect an announcement some time soon". Other sources say that because the Vampire Diaries actor has his birthdays in Summer, they could get married then.

Ria Thielsch is known by Luv's fans as the one who replaced Patty Brard in the summer of 1980. She reached fame with the release of the single "My Number One" and the album "Forever Yours". Six months after her recruitment, Luv' disbanded (see Chapter V of the trio's biography). Then she continued her career in the fashion industry.

Now Ria can be proud of her niece, Maxime Barlag who is the female singer of the pop-folk band "Mister and Mississippi". In addition to Maxime, the group is composed of three other members: Samgar Lemuël Jacobs (vocals/percussion), Tom Broshuis (guitar/keyboard) and Danny van Tiggele (guitar and vocals). The quartet was formed at the "Herman Brood Academy" last year.

In September 2012, they signed a record deal with V2 Records Benelux. In early December, their first single "Northern Sky" came out and rapidly got radio airplay. On January 28th 2013, the eponymous debut album "Mister and Mississippi" was released. It received widespread acclaim from music critics and it was even named "album of the week" by the influential 3FM radio station. On February 2nd it entered the Dutch Single Top 100 at #6 and the Alternative Top 30 at #1. Five weeks later, this opus is still on the charts (#61 on the Top 100 and #15 on the Alternative Top 30). Mister and Mississippi promoted their music in the media.

Live performance on "De Wereld Draait Door"
They even played live on the high-rated VARA/Nederland 3's talk show "De Wereld Draait Door". Since February 5th, the band has been on tour. Their first gig took place at the "Ancienne Belgique" in Brussels, Belgium. Their concert at the "Paradiso" in Amsterdam, NL was sold out as well as other performances (Rotterdam, Nijmegen, Breda..). Last but not least: "Mister and Mississippi" have been nominated for the 3FM Serious Talent Award with four other acts (Kensington, The New Shining, Douwe Bob and Jacco Gardner). The result will be announced during Paaspop (an Easter music festival in Schijndel) on March 30th.

35th anniversary of "U.O.Me" - Luv's ticket to stardom
This is the record that changed the destiny of Marga Scheide, José Hoebee and Patty Brard better known as LUV'.
History
In 1977, Luv's debut single "My Man" scored quite well in the charts in the Netherlands and Belgium but it did not change the girls into pop stars. In early 1978, Dutch TV channel VPRO commissioned Hans van Hemert to write the theme song for the burlesque series "Het is weer zo laat (Waldolala)" which was conceived and directed by Wim van der Linden, Wim T. Schippers, Gied Jaspars and Ellen Jens. Assisted by Piet Souer, Van Hemert wrote the Carnival and disco track "U.O.Me (Welcome to Waldolala)" and let it record by Luv'. "Het is weer zo laat" featured Dolf Brouwers as Waldo van Dungen, owner of the night club "Waldolala". The series aired weekly from February 12th to April 23rd 1978 and was a high-rated TV program. The fact that Luv' appeared during the opening credit to perform their song was a fabulous publicity stunt for the trio. José, Patty and Marga became rapidly Holland's sweethearts and sex symbols and their career was really launched.

Reception
"U.O.Me" was released in February 1978 by Phonogram/Philips Records. On March 11th, the single entered the Dutch charts and later peaked at #3 on the Top 40 and the Nationale Hitparade. It reached #2 on the BRT Top 30 in Belgium as well. The record sold 150.000 copies and went platinum in Holland. It came out in the neighboring countries (France, Germany...) but was not a success outside Benelux. Luv's international breakthrough happened with the follow-up single "You're the Greatest Lover".

* Schlager singer Peter Petrel sang a German version entitled "Wer Hat Hier Denn Wohl Wen Verführt" in 1978.
* Finnish girl group Mirumaru performed the track as "Sun Vain Oon" in their language in 1978.
* De Vedettes recorded their version of Luv's breakthrough hit to support the Dutch national football team (the famous Oranjes) at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. This cover was entitled "Oh! Wat Een Mooie Goal!" (Oh! What a beautiful goal!) and peaked at #39 on Holland's Single Top 100 in July 2010.

Patty Brard appeared this afternoon on RTL4's program "Carlo & Irene: Life 4 You". The diva was accompanied by two candidates of "Echte Meisjes op de Prairie": Michella and Ricardo. They promoted their reality show which premiered on March 5th (see news posted on March 6th 2013). Moreover, Patty mentioned her three other projects: the pilot she taped with Char Margolis for RTL 4 (see news posted on March 8th 2013), her "Make Under" program on RTL 5 and a line of spa pools she is developing with her fiancé Antoine van de Vijver.
