PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY
With all the exposure people are apparently willing to subject themselves to today on social-network sites, it is importand to remember to protect your identity and your reputation.
Facebook recently received a great deal of criticism for its excessively complicated and unclear privacy policies.
Facebook reluctanly simplified some of it's privacy settings (reducing the number od settings from 50 to 15), but still refuses to make these privacy settings the default settings.
The Facebook debates are too complex to discuss here, but let's take a look at just one of the ways that could put yourself at risk: Facebook gives you three options to share your personal information - friends only, friends of friends and everyone. New, think about it - the option "friends of friends" and "everyone" are basically the same! And if you are ready to share your name, photo and date of birth with everyone, then don't be surprised if one day you are a victim of identity theft.
