Shooting on Britney Spears' new music video was stopped after the singer reportedly "sobbed hysterically" during a pole dance routine.

The troubled star, who was filming the promo for new single 'Give Me More', apparently looked "dead-eyed" and "disorientated" and became paranoid during her raunchy pole dance last Wednesday (25.07.07).

A source said: "Britney was rude, and she chain-smoked and drank an enormous amount of Red Bull throughout the shoot.

"She had a problem with the extras watching her pole dance, suddenly she was in floods of tears. It was sad to witness."

At one point, Britney - who was wearing a black leather waistcoat, a pair of black hot pants and ripped fishnet tights - squatted on the floor and hugged her Yorkshire Terrier puppy London as she vacantly stared into space.

Around 100 frustrated crewmembers were sent home after 18 hours on the Los Angeles shoot, which had been paid for by Britney.

You might think the embattled 25-year-old pop star and mother of two would be laying low before the highly anticipated OK! magazine cover story that's about to hit stands.

The doozy of a profile apparently includes less than flattering pics of Spears from a shoot in which several incidents of bizarre behavior reportedly occurred, like using a Chanel couture dress to pick up dog poop.

But there she was yesterday afternoon, shopping at the M.A.C Cosmetics store on not so private Robertson Boulevard. My spies report that she picked up some mascara, eyeshadow and fake lashes before heading out the back door.

And there she was again, this time spotted at the Abbey, a gay bar and restaurant in West Hollywood.

And, wait, there she was again, going high profile for a din-din at WeHo's Il Sole (lobster risotto, if you must know).

Yep, that Brit's making more whistle stops than a presidential candidate—even with a possible train wreck of a story due any day now.

Britney Spears is to host the grand opening of hot nightclub LAX at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas.

The new club opens its doors to the public on 31 August and the pop superstar will be there to welcome revelers.

Club bosses asked Spears to host the grand opening of LAX after her New Year's Eve 2006 party at sister venue Pure was a massive draw.

Britney seems to be interested in a career in the nightclub industry after reports earlier this week claim that she also applied to be a cocktail waitress at trendy hangout Les Deux.

A source told Life and Style Weekly magazine: "Britney told one of the managers, 'I really want to get a job here - I love the sexy red corsets the cocktail waitresses wear!' and he said 'Well, you should fill out an application then!'

"She filled out the application, including her work history, address, social security number, and then she went to a back room for an interview with the manager."

The 25-year-old singer is said to preparing to release her first song since 2005 in the next few weeks and has a "surprising" new sound.

A source said: "It's a very new sound for her. I think people will be surprised."

Britney Spears' bodyguard Daimon Shippen allegedly used to sell sex toys on the internet, according to gossip website X17online.

The 34-year-old burly security guard - who has been protecting Britney and helping her look after her children - was reportedly fired from his previous agency, Galahad Security, because of his adult website business.

The domestic service security agency he now works for reportedly does not perform regular background checks.

Sources also say Daimon is gay and currently has a boyfriend called Sam.

Britney, 25, has denied rumors she and Daimon are dating after they were spotted sharing a candlelit dinner in the Windows Lounge of Los Angeles' Four Seasons hotel earlier this month, after which he spent the night at her home.

A source said: "He's her bodyguard and manny. They're not dating. Daimon is funny, but on the quiet side. He is tickled by all the attention, but he really wants to focus on his job. He just wants to take care of Britney and her kids."

Britney Spears mother Lynne has invited her daughter to the family's Independence Day celebrations at their home in Kentwood, Louisiana, later this week in a bid to try and heal their rift.

However, when asked if she would be leaving Los Angeles to attend the gathering, Britney told People magazine yesterday (01.07.07): "I don't know. I like it here."

When quizzed further about whether she and her mother would be able to overcome their differences, the 25-year-old star added: "I'm praying for her right now. I hope she gets all the help she needs. In time, who knows what will happen?"

Britney was speaking outside Bel Air's Sushi House Unico, where she had dined alone on edamame beans and coffee.

Britney Spears has told the father of her children she wants to halt divorce proceedings.

A source "close to the couple" told the National Enquirer magazine: "Britney called Kevin and told him 'I'm not divorcing you! I want my family back!'

"He was stunned. The call was about custody rights, and though Kevin suspected Britney has been stalling the divorce because of second thoughts, he was shocked when she told him she wanted him back.

"The conversation grew heated and Kevin said he wasn't interested in a reconciliation.

"Britney got upset and threatened to drag out the divorce for months until he saw things her way and came back to her.

The 25-year-old - who has two sons, 21-month-old Sean Preston and nine-month-old Jayden James with Kevin - has reportedly been telling friends filing for divorce was a mistake and she wants to rebuild her marriage.

Britney Spears's choreographer Misha Gabriel has revealed she will join Lauper, Debbie Harry, Erasure, The Dresden Dolls and The MisShapes on stage at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre on June 30.

The 'True Colors' tour was created by Lauper to raise funds for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender organisations.

You've got no choice. Your body is insisting on it."

Britney, who had hoped to have her album out by the end of this year, has been left frustrated to discover the release date has now been pushed back to 2008.

Her representative Leslie Sloane Zelnick revealed: "I put her on hiatus. Brit's album won't be out until 2008."

Britney Spears' former love rival Shar Jackson is adamant the troubled pop princess won't be back to rehab anytime soon, because the singer "doesn't think she has a problem".

Spears claims her management and family persuaded her to check into the Promises rehabilitation center in Malibu, California in February after months of hard-partying and unusual behaviour, which culminated in the singer shaving her head and attacking a paparazzi's van with an umbrella.

Following her release in March, Spears is adamant she neither has a drinking problem nor is suffering from post-partum depression, as some media outlets have suggested.

Since leaving Promises, Spears has been attending dance lessons again to get back in shape for her musical comeback, as well as frequenting nightclubs again.

Former Moesha star Jackson, who is in contact with Spears' two young sons and mother Lynne, says the Toxic star isn't ready to seek outside help right now.

She says, "That's her journey and nothing will change until she wants it to. She doesn't think she has a problem so I don't see her changing anytime soon in my personal opinion. So it is what it is."

Britney Spears was found "vomiting uncontrollably" in the men's toilets of a bar on Sunday night (27.05.07).

The singer had been drinking at the exclusive Sky Bar at Los Angeles' Mondrian hotel and needed to be carried out when she was discovered slumped over a toilet covered in sick.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Britney was found slumped over the toilet bowl with make-up smeared over her face and her wig hanging off.

"She had a room booked at the hotel but was too ill to stay and was begging her bodyguard to take her home. She looked a real mess and was sitting on the floor with her head over the bowl throwing up.

"There was vomit down the front of her dress and around her mouth. Britney was on her knees and must have been sick four or five times. She didn't really seem with it."

Britney - who was wearing a tight red see-through top and leopard-print bra along with long blonde hair extensions - began her evening in Dominic's restaurant before heading off to Les Deux at 11pm.

Britney Spears, who once was so close to Lynne Spears that she co-wrote a book with her and gushed that her mom was her best friend, is so furious with the woman that she refused to visit her in the hospital on Mother’s Day, according to several reports.

“Britney has cut off all communication with her mom,” a “friend” of the 25-year-old singer told the National Enquirer. “She’s gone from calling Lynne ten times a day to flat-out refusing to speak to her.”

Lynne, 52, was hospitalized in southern California recently when a bout of the flu turned into pneumonia. Spears reportedly is furious with her mother for urging the “Oops I Did It Again” singer to enter rehab, and didn’t call her earlier this month for her birthday, either. The Star is reporting a similar story.

“Britney says her mom betrayed her and she refuses to get over it,” the source told the Enquirer. “When she was told to give her mom a call, Britney said: ‘I’m busy, I have my own kids now.’ ”

R&B star Jojo insists she won't fall victim to her own success and suffer a nervous breakdown - unlike pop rival Britney Spears.

The 16-year-old Too Little Too Late singer is adamant she won't follow in the footsteps of other child stars who find themselves in rehab, thanks to the support of her family.

She says, "I can't see that (a breakdown) in my future. There are things that are more important."

"I don't think any sane person would see that coming - I'm sure Britney didn't see it coming up."

"But I'm very close to my family and they keep me grounded, and I don't think they would ever let me do that."
