Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's reality TV show 'The Simple Life' has reportedly been axed.

The socialites will not film any more episodes of the show - which sees them try their hand at a series of low paid jobs - after TV network E! decided not to commission another series.

A network insider said: "We felt like the real life drama of their lives overshadowed anything happening on the show.

"Viewers would see Paris all day long on the news about her going to jail, so they didn't care about seeing her camping with kids. It was a case of overexposure."

Show insiders also claim Nicole infuriated TV bosses with her diva-like behavior in the recent fifth series.

The source said: "Paris carried the show. She was the one willing to do anything. Nicole was the diva."

Nicole Richie is the August 2007 cover girl for Nylon Magazine! The 25-year-old Simple Life star dishes on being a celebrity and a role model as well as fer run-in with the law.

On her omnipresence created by the media: “I don’t have a clue why I’m famous. I didn’t make myself famous… You’re doing it. I think people just want to say, ‘Oh, she doesn’t have a job she doesn’t do anything.’ They get off on that. But I do have a job, like everyone else.”

On her 2003 stint in rehab following a heroin-possession arrest: “When I pictured heroin, I pictured some crazy crackhead with no shoes under a bridge. You never think that is going to be you. And it never was me. I was never under a bridge, and I always had shoes.”

On setting an example for her fans: “I don’t walk around pretending that I’m perfect, so I don’t think anyone should hold me to that. The dangerous thing is that there are 16 -, 17 -, 18 –year-olds that people consider to be role models. I’m so happy I wasn’t famous back then… You’d think I was the f****** devil.”

Nicole Richie has been sentenced to four days in jail after pleading guilty to DUI (driving under the influence) on Friday (27.07.07).

'The Simple Life' star - who is believed to be four months pregnant with her first child - entered the plea at California's Glendale courthouse.

Nicole also agreed to serve a three-year probation term, enroll in an alcohol education program and pay a $2,048 fine.

Los Angeles County Commissioner Steven Lubell told the troubled 25-year-old: "Someone could've gotten killed. You need to understand that driving under the influence is extremely dangerous."

Nicole was given the option of serving her time in a paid city jail - which is seen as a more comfortable option than a county jail.

She wasn't given a surrender date, but must complete her sentence before September 28.

Nicole Richie has been speaking about her rehab nightmare after she became hooked on heroin at 13.

The hollywood "It girl" described how she knew she was addicted from the first time she tried the drug.

In an interview with Marie Claire she said: "I can remember the first time I tried it as a teenager-there was a lot of vomiting. But your body becomes physically dependent on it right away."

During her parents hostile divorce Nicole turned to heroin as an escape and soon become an addict.

After discovering the extent of the problem she was admitted into a rehab designed especially for teenagers.

"They didn't want me to quit cold turkey becuase I could have had a seizure so they gave me medication to come off it," she says looking back.

"Anyone who goes to rehab will say that they don't remember their first week or two becuase your body just goes through the shock of coming off whatever you were on." However this was nothing out of the ordinary for Hollywood and Nicole describes how there are even different types of rehab to chose from.

"There are prison ones and hotel ones, I was in under 18 rehab," she says.

Paris Hilton claims she rakes in the enormous sum from a variety of business ventures, including her own hotel chain, perfume range and personalized merchandise, and by charging massive fees for personal appearances.

She said: "I've made £100 million in the last year, while Jennifer Lopez made £75 million.

"I'm developing my own hotels, casinos and clubs and getting into real estate. It's crazy at such a young age. I'm doing so much."

Paris' inheritance from her family and the Hilton hotel chain is worth around £25 million, while she earns £8 million a year for her role in US TV show 'The Simple Life', in which she stars with friend Nicole Richie.

The 26-year-old socialite's perfume and jewelery collection brought in £1 million each last year, while she collected £10 million for personal appearances.

Paris can charge £50,000 a time just for showing up at her favorite haunts and is once believed to have been paid £673,000 to wave to a crowd in Australia for 20 minutes.

He tells U.S. TV news show Access Hollywood, "Nicole is probably one of those wonderful people that will not tell her father until I keep going, 'Come on Nic. I'm your father. What's going on?' "(She'll say) 'Nothing dad, nothing.' So right now, she's in nothing mode. I don't know. She'll let me know about it at the very last minute.

"It's the natural instinct to call. When she was 18... I'd call her right away. But now she's 25, I kind of wait. I've learned the lesson now. So at this point, I feel that if she doesn't call me, it's not really happening.

"At this point, she's kind of got me on the silent thing, which is OK with me. No news is good news."

Richie has always dreamed of singing at his daughter's wedding, but jokes, "I'm just hoping that it doesn't cost me a fortune."

Nicole Richie has further fueled pregnancy rumors by abstaining from alcohol at a showbiz party.

The 26-year-old - who allegedly received test results confirming she is pregnant two weeks ago - attended the Yves Saint Laurent Centre Dance Arts party at the Beverly Hills Hotel with boyfriend Joel Madden on Thursday night (14.06.07).

A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Nicole had everyone whispering when she declined alcohol."

'The Simple Life' star - renowned for her skinny frame - first sparked rumors after being photographed with an apparent baby bump.

A source told Life and Style Weekly magazine last week: "Nicole recently underwent a series of tests, including blood and urine screenings, which confirmed she is pregnant."

Nicole was photographed outside a reproductive clinic last month (30.05.07) - just days after her alcohol-fueled Memorial Day barbecue.

The Simple Life star, who is dating Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden, says the rocker fits her ideal 'type' of man.

She said: "I eat everything. I always have contrary to what people think.

Lindsay Working Out at Promises Rehab Centre

The troubled actress, who is currently being treated for alcoholism and drug abuse in Malibu's Promises rehab centre, is "out of control" and has reportedly tried to commit suicide.

Lindsay's ex-security guard Lee Weaver, who claims he quit because she was too dangerous to work for, revealed to the News of the World newspaper: "I have looked after some of the wildest stars in Hollywood but have never seen anyone as out of control as Lindsay. She had a total death wish and took more drugs and drank more than anyone I've met.

"I lost count of the times I thought she was overdosing and had to carry her out of parties. Every morning I'd breathe a sigh of relief she was still alive.

"One night I looked at her wrists and hands and noticed they had bright red wounds all over them. She broke down and told me, 'I don't belong on this planet anymore.' She said she cut herself because she didn't think life was worth living."

Weaver - who has previously worked for Brad Pitt, Pamela Anderson and Robert Downey Jnr - also claims Lindsay, 20, joined Nicole Richie for cocaine binges.

He said: "One night Lindsay and Nicole laid a mirror taken from the bedroom and on a coffee table and emptied a mountain of coke onto it. They went at the stuff with straws hovering it all up. I tried to tell Lindsay to stop. After ten hours, I had to carry her to the car."

Weaver also claims Lindsay experimented with lesbian sex, using women for "thrills".

He added: "I lost count of the women she took back to her hotel room from clubs. She used girls for thrills. I even saw her try to grope Mariah Carey's butt and boobs one night.

"At the start she seemed such a fun-loving angelic girl, but under the influence of drugs she was psychotic."

Nicole Richie's ill-advised eMail invite causes a fuss. Troubled socialite Nicole Richie is making new enemies after a joke e-mail invite to a Memorial Day party fell into the wrong hands.

The Simple Life star was poking fun at the news stories about her own DUI and weight loss issues in the invite, which encourages pals to "celebrate our country by drinking massive amounts of beer."

But experts aren't laughing after the invite was obtained by American publication In Touch Weekly.

Richie, who faces a possible jail term in court next month (Jun07) following a drink driving arrest last year (06), ends the ill-advised e-vite by jokingly urging her friends to "start starving yourself" so they're thin enough to enter the party.

She writes, "There will be a scale at the front door. No girls over 100 pounds allowed in. Start starving yourself now."

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Brenda was in the hospital. She had a hysterectomy and Nicole hasn't visited her since. The two have not been getting along lately."

According to reports, Nicole's rift with Brenda could be the cause of 'The Simple Life' star's recent personal problems.

The 25-year-old has reportedly been seeing a therapist to try and combat her low weight.
