The guest appeareance of Connie & Patty on RTL 4's benefit show is cancelled

Bad news: The participation of Connie Breukhoven and Patty Brard in RTL 4's benefit show has been cancelled. The aim of this concert is to raise money for a charity called "Nationaal Ouderenfonds" (the National Foundation for the Elderly (NFE) which promotes quality of life for older persons in the Netherlands). The ladies planned to sing "Tomorrow" from the musical "Annie" with Patricia Paay, Gerard Joling and Gordon on December 11th (see news posted on November 28th 2013). La Paay covered "Tomorrow" in 1982 and had a hit record with it in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Gordon is furious with Connie and Patty. Yesterday he expressed his anger on RTL Boulevard (Click here to listen to his interview). Miss Brard blames the impossibility to rehearse and has told her version of the story on Show Vandaag: "We were supposed to perform a song from Patricia's repertoire. I wanted to rehearse it but Patricia had no time for it. Connie didn't like the track so we were asked to perform another song we knew very well. Gordon called Connie, which led to an argument. Gordon said he wanted to do his way. After that phone call, Patricia decided not to be part of the show."

The former Luv' singer has written a message today on her Facebook page in which she explains that Patricia could not rehearse because of "an appointment with her insurer".

Despite this incident, Patricia, Geer & Goor will be performing.

Connie, Patty & Patricia: guest appearance on RTL 4's benefit show

The trio of Dutch divas Connie Breukhoven, Patty Brard and Patricia Paay will be performing "Tomorrow" from the musical "Annie" with Gerard Joling and Gordon on RTL 4's benefit show. The aim of this concert is to raise money for a charity called "Nationaal Ouderenfonds" (the National Foundation for the Elderly (NFE) which promotes quality of life for older persons in the Netherlands). The music program will be taped on December 11th in the studios of "The Voice of Holland". In 2011, the ladies were asked to be guest artists at De Toppers show but their performance was cancelled.

"Show Café" in aid of typhoon victims in Philippines

Recently, Patty Brard and other Dutch celebrities auctioned goods and services to raise money for the victims of the Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines (see news posted on November 16th 2013). Yesterday, the Netherlands held a national action day to support the relief efforts. The emergency aid bank account number "Giro 555" was first opened on November 11. SBS 6 and its presenters (including Patty) took part in this charity event. "Bar Paul" in Amsterdam was renamed "Show Café" and SBS stars worked there to raise funds. Beau van Erven Dorens served drinks and Miss Brard was the washroom attendant for one evening.

Charity auction in aid of typhoon victims in Philippines

Dutch celebrities (including Patty Brard) have decided to auction goods and services to raise money for the Philippines relief efforts. Patty is now offering you the chance to have a manicure/pedicure and a drink with her at Tilly’s Nailstudio in Amsterdam.

Patty at the premiere of "Sinterklaas en de Pepernoten Chaos"

Yesterday, Patty Brard attended the premiere of the St. Nicholas movie "Sinterklaas en de Pepernoten Chaos" in which she had a small part as the assistant of Gerard Joling (see news posted on September 10th 2013). The event took place at the Pathé Arena in Amsterdam.

St. Nicholas movie presented to the press

Yesterday, St. Nicholas movie "Sinterklaas en de Pepernoten Chaos" was presented to the press at the The Grand Hotel in Amsterdam. The cast of the film (including Gerard Joling and Patty Brard) was in a very good mood. As always, "Pat & Geer" were hilarious when they answered the questions of the journalists.

Patty signs an exclusive contact with SBS 6

Yesterday, SBS 6 gave a presentation on its new TV season which took place in Ibiza. Good news were announced: Patty Brard's signature of a two-year contract with the TV network and her nomination as a co-anchor with Beau van Erven Dorens on "Show Vandaag", a late-afternoon infotainment program which will start in October.

"I identify myself with SBS which is a family channel. I'm proud to say that I'm part of it for two years," the diva explained to news websites Nu.nl and AD.nl.

In 2011, her first deal with the network was not extended and she was dismissed. She later worked as a freelance professional on short-term projects. Since January, the former Luv' singer is back as a showbiz expert on "Shownieuws".

La Brard is a lucky TV personality with a bright future.

Patty nominated for the Dutch TV awards

Last year, Patty Brard's performance on SBS 6's diving competition "Sterren Springen Op Zaterdag" was a highly-covered media event. Her failed dive was used as a publicity stunt to sell the format known as "Celebrity Splash" to 30 countries all over the world. The diva has enjoyed a renaissance on Dutch television since then. She took part in seven shows during the 2013 season:

* "Wie is de Reisleider?" : a celebrity tour guide contest on RTL 5.

Broadcast period: January 8th - February 19th 2013

* "Vliegende Hollanders: Sterren van de Schans": a celebrity ski jumping competition on SBS 6 in which she was a member of the judging panel.

Broadcast period: February 22nd -March 8th 2013.

* "Echte Meisjes op de Prairie": a program that she hosted on RTL 5. It featured ten reality queens and kings who had to show their cow boy skills in the Wild West.

Broadcast period: March 5th - April 23rd 2013

* "Lust, Liefde of Laten Lopen", the Dutch version of "Snog, Marry, Avoid?", a make-under show she presented on RTL 5.

Brodcast period: May 6th - June 24th 2013

* "Koffietijd", RTL 4's morning show in which she replaced Quinty Trustfull.

Broadcast dates: May 9th and 10th 2013.

* "Ranking the Stars", a panel game show on BNN/Nederland 3 in which she appeared as a candidate on some episodes.

Broadcast dates: June 30th - August 18th 2013.

* The icing on the cake: since January, Patty is back on "Shownieuws" (SBS 6's entertainement news program as a showbiz expert). Some broadcasts averaged 800.000 viewers.

Pat & Mai Tai: Disco Queens

* On July 22nd, the former Luv' singer and Dutch-Surinamese girl group "Mai Tai" performed live on the RozeMaandagExpress (Pink Monday Express), a disco train which travelled from Amsterdam to Tilburg where the Roze Maandag (the biggest gay festival in the Netherlands) took place. La Brard had a lot of fun and expressed satisfaction on social networks.

* RTL 4 decided to rerun "Diva's Draaien Door" (a popular reality show which originally aired in 2011 and featured Patty Brard, Patricia Paay and Tatjana Simic). The repeat of the first episode drew 271.000 viewers (market share: 5.7%) on July 17th and the second episode attracted 307.000 viewers (market share: 6.2%) on July 24th. These viewing figures are not as good as the initial ratings. Two years ago, the program averaged 1 million viewers.

Moreover, Patricia Paay told Story magazine that Patty and her were working on a sitcom project. "I think we form a good couple. Patty is hysterical and I'm quiet. Patty wants a kind of sequel to the "Divas" but without Tatjana. We don't want to work with her anymore," La Paay said.

Flashback: Patty's garage sale for Queen's day 2013

Patty's garage sale for the King's day

Patty Brard will sell clothes tomorrow at 8.00 am during a garage sale on Koningsdag (King's day, the coronation of Willem Alexander). The location is Beethovenstraat 83, Amsterdam Zuid at Tilly's nail studio. Patty promoted this event on her Twitter account and her Facebook Page.
