Another rare picture of Patty Brard having fun in Ibiza has recently emerged on the Facebook tribute page to the legendary "KU" nightclub. The ex-Luv' singer danced the night away during the "Somos Como Niños" party in 1986. KU was the Balearic equivalent of "Studio 54" or "Le Palace". Many international celebrities (Freddie Mercury, Kid Creole, James Brown, Steve Strange, Albert II, Prince of Monaco, Roman Polanski, Julio Iglesias...) were invited to the prestigious club.

Patty Brard is scandalized by strong language on social media. "Terrible things are written anonymously on Twitter and internet forums. I don't understand why people wish somebody a deadly disease. I ignore such messages as much as I can but it's annoying. Every celebrity has to face it whether you're Doetzen Kroes or Patty Brard," the diva told Privé magazine.
"The most horrible thing happened during "Patty's Posse". It was so threatening that I was guarded 24/7 for two weeks," she added.

During the pinnacle of their career (1977 - 1981), the Luv' ladies scored their greatest hits on the European charts simultaneously with two other Pop-disco quartets: ABBA from Sweden and Boney M. from Germany. Hans van Hemert was influenced by the music of Frank Farian and the duo Björn Ulvaeus/Benny Andersson. In 1993, Luv' followed in the footsteps of ABBA and Boney M. by releasing their own "Gold" compilation.

Patty Brard's latest column in Weekend magazine deals with her recent career move. In late August, the diva signed a two-year contract with SBS 6 (see news posted on August 31st 2013). What a fabulous revenge and turnaround!
In 2011, her deal with the TV network was not extended and she was dismissed. Fortunately, Patty kept herself busy. She released her "Patty's Party Volume 1" album (featuring Dutch Carnival songs) and appeared on RTL 4's reality show "Diva's Draaien Door". Then came "Sterren Springen" (aka "Celebrity Splash"), the diving competition in which she stole the show. The format of this high-rated program was sold to 30 countries thanks to her failed dive. The TV star later participated in other short-term projects as a freelance professional. But she was longing for stability. "As a football player, you don't want to work for Ajax one week and for Feyenoord the following weekend", Patty wrote.

Michiel Gunning, Marga Scheide and Renée Gunning backstage at "Sterren Dansen Op Het Ijs" (SBS 6 figure skating competition in 2007)
The recent rumour of an affair between Renée Gunning (the daughter of Michiel, Marga Scheide's partner since 2006) and Jeroen Rietbergen (Linda de Mol's boyfriend) caused a sensation in the Dutch tabloid press. The scandal started earlier this week when an article published in Weekend magazine revealed this secret relationship and included quotes of Renée telling that "something happened" when she was 18. The young woman (who appeared on RTL 5's reality show "Echte Gooische Meisjes" in 2010) immediately replied to the publication of the article and denied the story. Marga also reacted to this "media circus" and told De Telegraaf that she believed in Renée's innocence.
