Videos: "Bingo" (with Patty's voice-over - 1987) + José's All Around My Hat (1986)

In 1986 and 1987, Patty Brard briefly hosted "Bingo", a music chart program on Flemish channel "BRT". Recently I've found a sequence from the TV show including Patty's voice-over. The former Luv' singer presented a Top 3 which consisted of Berlin's Take My Break Away, Sandra Kim's Tokyo Boy and The Communards' Don't Leave Me This Way:

Moreover, a video of José Hoebee performing "All Around My Hat" has recently been posted on YouTube. In 1986, José covered a traditional English folk song (made famous by Steeleye Span). This track is completely different from Luv's pop hits.

Bonnie & José @ "Piratenfeest Spalink"

Bonnie St. Claire & José Hoebee performed at the "Echte Piraten" show in Geesteren, NL on November 16th. A video of the duo has been uploaded on YouTube. Click here to watch it. The ladies sang "Ligt Dat Nou Aan Jou Of Aan Mij" (the Dutch cover version of ABBA's "Why Did It Have To Be Me").

Bonnie & José : "Zoals Vrienden Doen" on "Nederland Muziekland" (YouTube Video)

Bonnie & José

On August 27th, Bonnie St.Claire & José Hoebee took part in the taping of SBS 6's music show "Nederland Muziekland" in Ede, NL. The program aired on television last month (see news posted on October 13th 2013). The ladies performed their iconic duet "Zoals Vrienden Doen" (the Dutch cover version of ABBA's The Way Old Friends Do). Karin Angeleyes, one of my Facebook friends, uploaded the video of the duo's performance on YouTube. I would like to thank her.

Moreover the whole broadcast of "Nederland Muziekland" (featuring Bonnie & José) is available on the website of "Omroep Brabant" (a Dutch local channel). Click here to watch it. The singers appear at 13:00.

Björn of ABBA approves "Bonnie & José"

Björn Ulvaeus on "Bonnie & José in Sweden" (NCRV, 1986)

In 1986, Dutch TV channel NCRV aired the special "Bonnie & José in Sweden" which featured Bonnie St. Claire and José Hoebee performing cover versions of ABBA songs. Björn Ulvaeus (of ABBA) appeared on this program and gave an interview in which he approved the recordings of the ladies. It was years before the revival of interest in ABBA's music (ABBA Gold, Mamma Mia!-The Musical, Madonna's Hung Up using a sample of Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!...). Karin Angeleyes posted on Facebook the video of Björn telling "he was happy about the Dutch covers of Bonnie & José". To watch it, click here.
