José fears for her duo with Bonnie

Posted by abohan Sabtu, 18 Januari 2014 0 komentar
José Hoebee

The Dutch celebrity news websites and tabloids have recently covered bad news about Bonnie St. Claire. The legendary songstress seems to suffer from alcoholism again. Last weekend, Bonnie and her husband Anne-Jan argued violently. Anne-Jan even fell from a balcony and broke his legs. As a showbiz expert, Patty Brard talked about Bonnie's recent difficulties on SBS 6 entertainment news program "Show Laat". Pop singer Gerard Joling and TV personality Viola Holt told "RTL Boulevard" that they worried about St. Claire

According to Holland's most popular newspaper "De Telegraaf", José Hoebee (who relaunched her duo with Bonnie last summer) fears for her artistic collaboration with her friend. "I have to know if everything goes on," the former Luv' singer said. "This story should have been kept secret," José added. "But it didn't happen that way. As a friend of Bonnie and Anne-Jan, I hope that they will overcome their problems."

José: beauty makeover in "Party" magazine

Posted by abohan Kamis, 28 November 2013 0 komentar
The latest issue of "Party" magazine features an article about José Hoebee and beautiful pictures. In September, Dutch photographer and make-up artist Gerard de Haan did a photo shoot with the singer and supervised her makeover (see news posted on September 22nd 2013). The songstress discussed many subjects: her late husband, her comeback with Bonnie St. Claire, the backing tracks (used for her shows with Bonnie) which were digitally remastered and adapted to her current voice type (mature female vocalists often experience changes in their vocal range), the fact that when she had to record a "rough" track with Luv' she was asked to smoke cigarettes, her guest performance at a recent concert given by folk band Dommelvolk (featuring her long-time friend Ad van Genechten)....Jos Theuns (in charge of her official fan club) scanned the article:

It was hard work but I didn't want to miss it," José says.

José Hoebee in Story Magazine (scans)

Posted by abohan Rabu, 06 November 2013 0 komentar
Last week, I told that Story Magazine featured an article about José Hoebee (see news posted on November 1st 2013). Patty Brard also appeared in the same issue. José discussed her friendship with TV personality Viola Holt. After the death of her husband Will last year, Viola was a great comfort to José. She helped the former Luv' singer to find an accommodation when she had to leave her appartment in Lommel, Belgium. The ladies spent holidays together (Disneyland Paris in November 2012 and Greece in July). They first met in the 1980s during the taping of "AVRO's Sterrenslag", a series of competitions where Dutch television stars and singers competed in various sporting events. Moreover, José's duo with Bonnie St. Claire was also mentioned in the article.

José is looking for happiness (Weekend magazine)

Posted by abohan Minggu, 06 Oktober 2013 0 komentar
Check out the latest issue of "Weekend magazine" with an exclusive feature on José Hoebee on Lesbos Island, Greece. The artist told that 2012 was a horrible year due to her husband's death and her financial difficulties. "There have been so many reports on my problems in the media. Now I try to find solutions but it's still difficult", José said. The death of record producer Will Hoebee put the former Luv' singer to a lot of trouble. She told Weekend that Will had a big project with Dutch entertainer André van Duin. It would have saved his life and paid off all his debts. But he became ill and later passed away.

Because of her misfortune, José had to leave her appartment in Lommel, Belgium in August 2012. Fortunately, Viola Holt found her a small wooden house located near the forest of Muiderberg, NL. But this accommodation was too depressive and sixth months later she moved to Hilversum thanks to her longtime friend Ad

José discussed other subjets (her participation in "Sterren dansen op het ijs" (SBS 6 figure skating show), her opinion on "The Voice of Holland", her duo with Bonnie St. Claire, Luv' and her solo career).

The songstress also responded to rumours about an affair with "Ad" that she knew for 44 years. She calls him a "little brother". They are just friends. "Many people don't believe it but it's their problem", she asserted. The pop vocalist doesn't believe she will find love again.

Bonnie & José: The Way Old Friends Do

Posted by abohan Rabu, 14 Agustus 2013 0 komentar

Today's edition of De Telegraaf/Privé features an article on José Hoebee and Bonnie St. Claire. The two singers are planning their comeback as a duo (see news posted on July 28th 2013). They teamed up in the 1980's to perform ABBA songs in Dutch. Their duet "Zoals Vrienden Doen" (The Way Old Friends Do) is one of José's favourites in her repertoire. The ladies intend to release their 1985 "Herinnering" album on CD as well as a bonus track.

Bonnie & José want to relaunch their duo

Posted by abohan Minggu, 28 Juli 2013 0 komentar

In early June, I announced that Bonnie St. Claire and José Hoebee could be booked for live performances (see news posted on June 2nd 2013). Last week, ShowNu.nl posted an article about the ladies' comeback. "Bonnie called me some time ago and asked me if I wanted to work with her again and it was a good idea," José told the celebrity gossip site.

In the mid 1980's, Bonnie & José were famous for their Dutch cover versions of ABBA songs. They recorded a LP entitled "Herinnering" (produced by Will Hoebee and approved by the gentlemen of ABBA: Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson). The album has never been issued officially on CD. However, digitally remastered copies were available through the now-defunct Fonos.nl site but they were not authentic.

"Our plan is to release the album on CD with a new single", José said enthusiastically.

In August, the two singers will be performing on SBS 6 music show "Nederland Muziekland". On July 30th, De Telegraaf will publish an article about their new collaboration.

The youth of José

Posted by abohan Rabu, 29 Mei 2013 0 komentar

Weekend magazine publishes a weekly column entitled "De jeugd van..." (the youth of...)" which deals with the early years of Dutch celebrities. The latest column is about José Hoebee. The ex-Luv' singer told that she had a nice time as a youngster. She played a lot outside with her friends. However she had some trouble with her nanny.
"After the birth of my younger sister, a nanny sometimes helped my mother," José said. "This woman often spanked me. Or I was locked in a small room where a drying rack stood in front of a stove. As I was playing I hit it by accident and an underwear was burning. That's why she gave me a slap but this time my mother heard it and found out what happened. She jumped out of bed and immediately threw her out. She was devilish."

José in "Beau Monde"

Posted by abohan Senin, 06 Mei 2013 0 komentar
The latest issue of "Beau Monde" magazine features an article on José Hoebee. The singer never expected to get help from a psychiatrist. But last year, her husband, record producer Will Hoebee died and his loss got José into trouble emotionally and financially. The former Luv' lead vocalist is positive about the future. "Everyday I hope it's going to be better than the previous day. But beware, I'm not ready to perform in cool venues where I can shout "put your hands up in the air". Or to be busy as a host on a TV program. At the moment I work twice a day as a volunteer at the Wisseloord Studios. This is where we recorded all the Luv' hits. When I walk around it, I feel good. On such days I notice that I feel better," the artist said.

José wants to work as a TV host

Posted by abohan 0 komentar

José Hoebee would like to work as a TV host. That's what the ex-Luv' singer told Privé magazine. She would like to be busy. "I want to be active as soon as possible. I work as a telephonist at the Wisseloord studios twice a week but I do it voluntarily. I want to go back on stage and I would like to be a TV host," she said.
Work is indeed the best therapy to overcome her troubles. Recently Patty Brard took her to the taping of a TV program with American medium Char Margolis (see news posted on March 6th and March 8th 2013). "I was very sceptical. I only answered "yes" or "no". Because people know everything about me. I'm not ashamed of anything. But she said strange things to me and I thought: Hey, how does she know it?".
"Char honestly told me that she did not receive more from Will. So I didn't become wiser. I hope that what I've been through has not been relayed to him,” she added.

José on the "Koningslied"

Posted by abohan Kamis, 25 April 2013 0 komentar

In addition to Patty Brard, José Hoebee reacted to the release of the "King's song" or "Koningslied" which was meant to be sung at the inauguration of new Dutch King Willem-Alexander and which had to be scrapped following a public outcry (see news posted earlier today). The track (performed by 51 Dutch celebrities and written by John Ewbank) caused outrage among some when it came out, despite it going straight to the top of Holland's iTunes charts. Some listeners disagreed with lyrics included in the song such as: ‘I build a dyke with my bare hands and keep the water away’ and ‘through wind and rain I’ll stand beside you… I’ll keep you safe as long as I live’.

José told De Telegraaf: "Respect for this song of John Ewbank. It is a beautiful composition performed by classy artists. OK, you cannot sing along to it and that's what the Netherlands want. I'm convinced that if a song for Obama was written and performed by American artists, it would be a hit. Even in the Netherlands...Our country seems to be too small for class. What a pity!!!"

Due to the controversy, the song was withdrawn but the coronation committee put it right back into its program.

The latest issue of Privé magazine features an article about the new life of José Hoebee. Two months ago, the former lead singer of Luv' left her temporary accommodation in Muiderberg to move to Hilversum, NL (see news on February 23rd 2013). Because of her problems after her husband's death, José is still depressive and left 18 kilos. She has not overcome all her worries yet.
Jan Uriot and Marine Hauwert of the "Telegraaf/Privé" team talked about this article in their entertainment news program. To watch it, click here.
