Soon : Patty @ Ranking the Stars

The 10th edition of BNN/Nederland 3's game show "Ranking The Stars" will start on June 30th at 9:25 pm. The program is hosted by Paul de Leeuw and features Patty Brard with other celebrities. In some episodes, the diva competes against her rival Chazia Mourali (who presented the Dutch version of "The Weakest Link" on RTL 4 in the 2000's). The ladies are not on good terms. Five years ago, they had already taken part in an all-female version of "Ranking The Stars" and a so-called "catfight" between them was covered by the media.

Patty wrote her latest column in Weekend magazine about Chazia. The former Luv' singer criticized Mourali's arrogance. To read Pat's column, click here.

Patty twice in the daily list of the top 25 most-watched TV programs

As a freelance TV personality, Patty Brard works for two Dutch TV networks (SBS 6 and RTL 5). Yesterday, two shows which featured the diva entered the daily list of the Top 25 most-watched programs (conceived by Stichting KijkOnderzoek, Holland's audience measurement company).

"Lust, Liefde Of Laten Lopen" (RTL 5's make-under show) attracted 471.000 viewers (overall market share: 7.2%) and was ranked #23 on the Top 25. These are the best viewing figures scored by the show and it's the first time that it appears on the list of the most successful programs.

The late-night edition of "Shownieuws" drew 458.000 viewers (overall market share: 11.9%) and was ranked #25. The TV ratings of SBS 6's entertainement news program were less important than expected.

Shownieuws: still a success!

Patty Brard appeared three times this week on SBS 6's entertainment news program "Shownieuws" (see news posted on June 20th 2013). Here are the viewing figures of the broadcasts which featured the diva:

* June 19th: 723.000 viewers / overall market share: 19.8%

* June 20th: 799.000 viewers / overall market share: 19,6%

* June 21st: 665.000 viewers / overall market share: 14.3%

Patty expressed satisfaction on social networks:

Patty about juice cleansing

In 2004, the reality show "Patty's Fort" featured the diva and other Dutch celebrities (including Marga Scheide) as they were having a therapy which consisted of fasting, juice cleansing, drinking tea, enema and meditation. This TV program caused a sensation and was unfairly known as the "Klysma show" because of a segment showing Miss Brard having an enema. Patty still suffers from the bad image of the TV show. But on the other hand, she is a trendsetter as other VIPs (including Carlo Boszhard) follow in the footsteps of La Brard.

Patty three times on "Shownieuws" this week

2013 saw the comeback of Patty Brard on "Shownieuws", the entertainment news program on SBS 6.  The viewers have the opportunity to watch the former Luv' singer three times this week on the late-night edition. She appeared yesterday on the show and will be present this evening and tomorrow.

Patty and Gerard in a Saint Nicholas movie

Patty Brard will play a supporting role in a film which will come out for the "Saint Nicholas" celebrations in early December in the Netherlands. The film, entitled "Sinterklaas en de Pepernoten Chaos", will be directed by Martijn van Nellestijn and will also feature Patty's longtime friend Gerard Joling. 

The diva revealed the good news yesterday on Shownieuws: "Gerard called me and told me he was going to play in a St. Nicholas film. But he would not do it without me. I asked him if the filmmakers knew it. He replied: "Then they will change the script!"

When the ex-Luv' girl meets the ex-Dolly Dots girl...


Patty Brard has recently posted a picture of herself with ex-Dolly Dots singer Angela Groothuizen. The ladies attended a party held by RTL Nederland on June 12th. In the late 1970's and early 1980's as they conquered the pop charts, they were supposed to be rivals according to the tabloid press. But they have much in common. They survived the break-up of their girl groups and have the most successful solo careers. Both of them still sing and are media personalities. They frequently appear on commercial TV. We all know Patty's feats on the small screen ("Celebrity Splash", "Shownieuws"...). Angela is a judge on RTL 4's talent show "X Factor" and a former member of the jury of "The Voice of Holland".

Patty's column on Sonja Bakker

Patty Brard's latest column in Weekend magazine is about Sonja Bakker. Last week, the diva couldn't help tittering at excerpts taken from Bakker's erotic thriller (see news posted on June 8th 2013). Patty told that Sonja, a renowned weight loss consultant who wrote bestsellers about diet and later children's books, used to have the image of the ideal Dutch wife and mother. To the public's great surprise, Sonja decided to publish a novel entitled "Ibiza, De Hemel En De Hel" (Ibiza, heaven and hell) which caused a sensation. Patty's hilarious reaction has been a good publicity stunt for a book which has come out just before summer holiday.

Suri Cruise might not be old, but she's already very popular on the A-list.

Now close sources tell that Suri gets tons of invites for playdates with other celebrity kids, and that they're dying to meet her.

"Katie thinks it's hilarious that Suri gets more invitations than she does", a friend of Katie Holmes says. Gwen Stefani's son, Kingston and Heidi Klum's nine-year-old daughter, Leni are two of the Hollywood children that has invited her to play with them. "Next time they're in L.A., Katie is hoping to make some dates happen", the source continued.

Geekly Chic: Celebrity News: Kris Jenner On Kim And Kanye's Wedding!

Kris Jenner has opened up about her daughter Kim Kardashian's plans to marry Kanye West.

The 57-year-old "momager" said that if Kim and Kanye were to decide to get married, it would be a small and "private" occasion, unlike her televised wedding to Kris Humphries in 2011.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Jenner said: "This time it will be private and smaller, if she does get married again - not 500 people."

Jenner's admission comes as the reality TV star kicks off the promotional trail for the six-week trial run of her new talk show, Kris.

The programme will reportedly focus on fashion, beauty and fitness, and Jenner has said that she hopes to inspire women her age.

She said: "So many women give up in life when they get a little bit older... I want to be a positive influence. I want to come from a really good place. Some people are just lost, and maybe I can be an inspiration."

Miley Cyrus was quick to kill any rumours of a budding romance between her and Justin Bieber by revealing that she is still engaged to actor Liam Hemsworth.


The former Disney princess was spotted with Justin Bieber at the Beacher's Madhouse in Los Angeles over the weekend. According to one source on the scene, the pair were seen flirting for several minutes before they left together.



However, after news of the alleged hook-up began to do the press rounds, Miley called The Kane Show on Washington DC's Hot 99.5 to clear things up, insisting that dating her long-time friend was "impossible".



"I'm engaged! I'm engaged. That is impossible," she said.



The star's words also dismissed recent speculation that she has split up from Liam Hemsworth.

Madonna and Rita met for the very first time backstage at the Sound For Change concert, which took place at Twickenham Stadium, London two weeks ago.



The Material Girl range is available exclusively at Macy's in the USA, and The Bay in Canada, Europe and Australia. 



Previous models of the range include Kelly Osbourne, Georgia May Jagger and Taylor Momsen.

Geekly Chic: Music: Justin Timberlake Announces 2014 Tour Plans!

Justin Timberlake has revealed that he will be bringing the 20/20 Experience World Tour to the UK.


The singer will perform in the UK during his solo headlining tour in Spring 2014.



JT announced the news to his fans during a Twitter Q&A at Capital FM's Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium yesterday.



The dates will follow his tour of North America and Canada, which are set to begin in Montreal on 31 October.



But if that's too long to wait to see the Mirrors singer, fear not: Timberlake will be bringing some serious trouser snake action when he takes to the stage with Jay-Z at London's Yahoo! Wireless Festival on 12-14 July.



He will also headline at the iTunes Festival on 29 September - a day before he releases volume two of The 20/20 Experience.

Patty Brard's latest column in Weekend magazine is about Jan Kooijman (who hosts RTL 5's dating game show "Take me out' and is a jury member on the talent show "So You Think You Can Dance - The Next Generation"). The diva is very enthusiastic about the young entertainer. She appreciates his talent and predicts that he will have a bright future. She praises his "personality, his look, his good manners and his spontaneity". Patty also told that she took her three young neighbours to the taping of "So You Think..." and that they enjoyed it very much.

Patty laughs at Sonja Bakker's erotic book

Patty Brard appears once a week on SBS 6 entertainment news program "Shownieuws" as a 'showbiz expert'. The June 6 broadcast featured the larger than life TV personality and drew 434.000 viewers (overall market share: 14.8%). A report of the program dealt with the erotic thriller written by weight loss consultant Sonja Bakker. Immediately after that, Patty giggled because of hot and ridiculous excerpts from the novel. "I'm laughing at her. You cannot expect it from this woman. She wrote children's books last year and now she's going wild," the diva said.

Geekly Chic: Celebrity News: Justin Bieber Signs Up For Space Trip?!

Justin Bieber is the latest celebrity to sign up for a trip to space.


The 19-year-old and his manager Scooter Braun will fly with Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic.



Sir Richard Branson tweeted from his official Twitter account: 
"Great to hear @justinbieber & @scooterbraun are latest @virgingalactic future astronauts. Congrats, see you up there!"



Justin Bieber joins the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Ashton Kutcher, who have paid $250,000 deposits to be on the priority list when the flights happen.



Bieber re-tweeted Richard Branson's congratulations, saying:
"I wanna do a concert in space."



NASA replied:
"Maybe we can help you with that."



Passengers on the aircraft will be sent 62 miles up in altitude and experience a few minutes of weightlessness.

Geekly Chic: Celebrity News: Model Elisa Sednaoui Welcomes Baby Boy!

Elisa Sednaoui and her fiancé, art curator Alexander Dellal, have welcomed their first child.

The model, who has fronted campaigns for Roberto Cavalli, Chanel and Giorgio Armani in the past, gave birth to a baby boy on May 31st 2013.

The couple named him Jack Zeitoun Dellal.

Alongside her modelling career, Sednaoui is set to star in two films this year: in an Italian version of The Legend Of Kaspar Hauser alongside Vincent Gallo, and Libertador.

She recently set up a charity foundation, which aims to raise funds for the educational development of children in rural areas. The project will start in Egypt. Sednaoui is herself the daughter of a French-Egyptian father and an Italian mother.

Luv' on "De Verleiding" (Dutch TV 1993)

In early 1993, record producer Hans van Hemert and the Luv' ladies appeared on VARA/Nederland 3's program "De Verleiding" to discuss the group's image, the dance routines, their cooperation and their success in the late 1970's. This TV show provoked positive reactions and to some extent led to Luv's comeback twenty years ago (see Chapter VIII of the biography). I've uploaded this video to YouTube and I've added subtitles in English for the non-Dutch speaking fans of the trio.

Book "Bonnie & José" !!!!

According to Easybookings.nl and JB Productions (Dutch talent agencies), Bonnie St Claire & José Hoebee can be booked for live performances (public shows, festivals, corporate events, private gigs...). In the mid 1980s, the ladies formed a duo called "Bonnie & José". They covered ABBA's songs in Dutch and scored two Top 40 hits: "Cassandra" and the legendary "Zoals Vrienden Doen" (The Way Old Friends Do). In 1985, the singers were part of the cast of  "ABBAcadabra", a TV musical which aired on TROS channel and they also released an album entitled "Herrinerring" (which featured cover versions of the "Swedish Fab Four" produced by Will Hoebee). They appeared on many TV shows (including "Nederland Muziekland", "Op Volle Touren", "Showbizzquiz" and a special taped in 1986 in Sweden (with a sequence filmed in ABBA's Polar studios in Stockholm). Bonnie & José also toured the Netherlands with their concerts. In 1987, the duo broke up. They reunited briefly in the mid-1990s for the release of a single ('n Engel als jij). Bonnie is one of José's best friend. In late 2004, Miss Hoebee was her witness at her wedding (which was broadcast live on SBS 6). Due to Luv's comeback in the 2000s and Miss St. Claire's own projects, the two artists haven't met often in recent years. But now they want to be back on stage together!!! Their current show is meant to be a flashback to the 80's. Their set list includes their iconic duets as well as their solo hits ("Pierrot", "Dr. Bernard" and "Bonnie Kom Je Buiten Spelen" by Bonnie; "I Will Follow Him" and "Secret Love" by José).
