Recently, a video of Luv' performing two tracks on Spanish TV has been uploaded on YouTube. The girls sang "Ooh, Yes I Do" and "Boys Goodnight" on "Aplauso", a music TV show on TVE. Despite its poor quality, this footage is interesting. Many international singers and bands (including The Jacksons, ABBA, The Police, Boney M., Donna Summer, AC/DC, Phil Collins and Paul Simon) appeared on this popular program. Luv's performance probably aired in late 1979 or early 1980 during the promotion of their third album "True Luv'". "You're the Greatest Lover" ("Tu Eres Mi Mejor Amante") was a minor hit in Cervantes country.
As of October 23rd, "Sinterklaas en de Pepernoten Chaos" (St. Nicholas movie featuring Patty Brard and Gerard Joling) has grossed €228.039 in the Netherlands. Its position on the latest Dutch Box Office Top 20 is #14.
Luv' was launched in 1977 by record producers/songwriters Hans van Hemert and Piet Souer in order to conquer the European pop charts. The ladies succeeded beyond their expectations. They won the "1979 Conamus Export Prize" for being "Holland's best export act" thanks to their good record sales in Benelux, German speaking countries, Denmark, South Africa, New Zealand and Mexico. During their heyday, other Dutch pop acts tried their luck abroad and were succesfull in the international marketplace. Here's a list of bands and singers (from the Netherlands) based on their foreign chart performances between 1977 and 1981 (a period of intense activity for Luv').

Patty appeared on "Show Vandaag" on October 21st and 23rd
The first broadcast of "Show Vandaag" (featuring Patty Brard as an expert) on October 21st was disappointing in terms of viewing figures (see news posted two days ago). However, SBS 6's infotainment program later scored better ratings: it drew 163.000 viewers (market share: 5.2%) on October 22nd and 125.000 viewers (market share: 4%) on October 23rd.
Patty Brard's latest column in Weekend Magazine is about her "Shownieuws" and "Show Vandaag" colleague Kees Tol. Recently, the young man won the "Talent award" at the latest "Gouden Televizier-Ring Gala" (Dutch TV awards). Kees announced that if he won a prize at the "Televizier Gala" he would appear naked on "Shownieuws". That's what he did a couple of days ago:
"Sinterklaas en de Pepernoten Chaos" (St. Nicholas movie featuring Patty Brard and Gerard Joling) is still on the Dutch Box Office Top 20. Here are the latest results of the film:
Bonnie St. Claire & José Hoebee will be the guests on S.L.O.S Mix105, a Dutch local radio station on October 27th at 2.00 PM. They will perform their classic hits (including "Zoals Vrienden Doen" and "Cassandra").
The start of a new TV show is always a challenge. Yesterday saw the first broadcast of "Show Vandaag" on SBS 6 hosted by Beau van Erven Dorens and Cynthia Abma with Patty Brard as one of the "experts". Despite the input and motivation of Beau and his team, the infotainment program only drew 99.000 viewers (market share: 3%), below expectations of the TV channel.

On October 18th, the set of SBS 6's forthcoming infotainment program "Show Vandaag" was revealed on "Shownieuws" (685.000 viewers/market share: 13.3%). Patty Brard will be one of the experts on the TV show. She believes in this new project. "It's a very pleasant show. As if you were drinking a cup of tea next to us. You have the feeling you are sitting next to us," the TV personality said. The first broadcast of "Show Vandaag" is scheduled for tomorrow.
Patricia Paay was supposed to take part in a new TV series with Patty Brard (see news posted on October 2013) but at the very last moment she gave up. She seems to be fed up with the Dutch show business after a recent joke of Gerard Joling on stage. Joling declared that "it was harder to put the Maywood sisters together than Patricia's legs". La Paay was furious and sent a SMS to Patty in which she expressed her despair and told she cancelled her participation in the series.

Patty Brard's latest column in Weekend Magazine deals with Gerard Joling's spectacular concerts at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. The diva praised the "amazing and international style" of Gerard's shows which saw the reunion of Dutch sister duo "Maywood". Patty also mentioned the incident about Joling's remark on Patricia Paay.
Finally it happened!!! Yesterday afternoon, SBS 6's music show "Nederland Muziekland" aired and featured many Dutch artists (including Bonnie St. Claire and José Hoebee). The broadcast date of the ladies' performance has been uncertain for a while. The program was taped in late August with an attendance of 13.000 people in Ede, NL (see news posted on August 28th 2013). However, it only drew 25.000 viewers (market share: 2%).
The reunion of "Bonnie & José" has been a fact since last summer but yesterday saw their real comeback on television.
Yesterday evening, "Shownieuws" was hosted by Beau van Erven Dorens with Patty Brard and Janice as "experts". SBS 6 entertainment news program attracted 416.000 viewers (market share: 10.2%).
Patty Brard's latest column in Weekend magazine is about "Show Vandaag", the forthcoming infotainement program on SBS 6 hosted by Beau van Erven Dorens and Cynthia Abma. Patty clarified her involvment in this late-afternoon TV show. "Show Vandaag" will deal with serious news but also entertainment, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, travel and cooking. Four "experts" of "Shownieuws Laat" (Renate Gerschtanowitz, Evert Santegoeds, Koos van Plateringen and Miss Brard) will be in charge of the "entertainment" part of the program in turn.
Recently there has been a misunderstanding about Pat's role in "Show Vandaag". Some websites announced that the former Luv' singer would be a co-anchor with Beau (see news posted on August 31st 2013). In late September, Albert Verlinde (of "RTL Boulevard") told that the diva proclaimed at a recent press conference that she would be "one of the main presenters". Ironically, Verlinde said that it was not true and that she would "just be an expert". But Patty explained how this misinterpretation happened. After the presentation of the 2013-2014 TV season in Ibiza, the collaboration between Beau and her attracted so much attention that the recruitment of Cynthia Abma as the co-host with Van Erven Dorens took the media by surprise. They considered it as a "bad news for Patty" whereas the "larger than life" TV personality never made a real statement about her collaboration on "Show Vandaag". In her column, La Brard reassured the readers when she wrote that Beau and Cynthia would be the real duo and that the four members of "Shownieuws" would be the sidekicks. "Sinterklaas en de pepernoten chaos" (St. Nicholas movie featuring Gerard Joling and Patty Brard) entered the Weekend edition of Dutch Box-Office Top 20, grossing an estimated €21.551 between October 3rd and October 6th.
Yesterday, "Toppop3" aired on AVRO/Nederland 3. Patty Brard appeared on the "Hall of Fame" part of the TV program in which she paid tribute to Dutch pop singer "Jan Smit". Footage of Luv' in their heyday was shown. Patty and Jan have something in common: both of them received the Buma Export Award (previously Conamus Export Prize) for being "Holland's best export act". La Brard won the trophy in 1979 with Luv' and Smit got it in 2001.
Check out the latest issue of "Weekend magazine" with an exclusive feature on José Hoebee on Lesbos Island, Greece. The artist told that 2012 was a horrible year due to her husband's death and her financial difficulties. "There have been so many reports on my problems in the media. Now I try to find solutions but it's still difficult", José said. The death of record producer Will Hoebee put the former Luv' singer to a lot of trouble. She told Weekend that Will had a big project with Dutch entertainer André van Duin. It would have saved his life and paid off all his debts. But he became ill and later passed away.
Because of her misfortune, José had to leave her appartment in Lommel, Belgium in August 2012. Fortunately, Viola Holt found her a small wooden house located near the forest of Muiderberg, NL. But this accommodation was too depressive and sixth months later she moved to Hilversum thanks to her longtime friend Ad.
José discussed other subjets (her participation in "Sterren dansen op het ijs" (SBS 6 figure skating show), her opinion on "The Voice of Holland", her duo with Bonnie St. Claire, Luv' and her solo career).
The songstress also responded to rumours about an affair with "Ad" that she knew for 44 years. She calls him a "little brother". They are just friends. "Many people don't believe it but it's their problem", she asserted. The pop vocalist doesn't believe she will find love again.
